If I wanted, I could say them all in church. They're birds with seemingly dirty names. Dickcissel, Windfucker, White-Breasted Nuthatch. Now you know. And yes, I intend to work each into my everyday vocabulary, pointing out to any objectors that they have their mind in the gutter since I am only going on about my favorite birds, which they are... now.
(By the way, someone pointed out that manhole is a really dirty sounding word but only after you point out that it sounds dirty.)
The other day, I drove by a sign that read: "Now Hiring Great Leaders". It made me terribly depressed. For starters, I was crestfallen because my initial reaction was one of great joy because I would like to consider myself a great leader, and I'm always looking for new challenges. The sign was attached to a Taco Bell and I do not consider Taco Bell a new challenge.
My second wave of sadness hit me when I wondered if this is why our political system is in such bad shape. Could it be? Could Taco Bell have hired all the great leaders, leaving us with such crap? Man... that's depressing.

Which one of those bird names was your nickname in 7th grade? I bet I know.
Great blog. I agree that Maccon can't afford to be afraid of change, even if it is change in North Macon. Downtown will continue to have its own charms, even without a DSW.
How many nicknames did you have as a kid? Horney Toad, really?
